NDC Garage Doors becomes Bronze Corporate Supporter
of the Surrey Wildlife Trust

The Surrey-based supplier of sustainably sourced timber doors will donate
£15 to the charity for every customer product review

NDC Garage Doors, a supplier and installer of sustainably-sourced timber garage doors within Surrey and Hampshire, has pledged its support of local charity the Surrey Wildlife Trust and become a Bronze Corporate Supporter. Based in Lightwater and surrounded by Surrey’s beautiful woodland and heathland, NDC Garage Doors will make a £15 donation to the charity for every customer review it receives following the installation of its wide-ranging garage door solutions. Its offering includes timber garage doors that are manufactured from sustainably sourced and managed forests that are FSC/PEFC certified.

“We firmly support the positive work that the Surrey Wildlife Trust is doing to maintain local wildlife habitats and have a positive effect on the area’s carbon footprint,” says Scott Couldrey, managing director of NDC Garage Doors. “We’re delighted to become a Bronze Corporate Supporter, making donations on behalf of our customers when they leave reviews following our services.”

For each NDC Garage Doors customer leaving a review with a photograph on either Google, Facebook or its Checkatrade profiles, the company will donate £15 to the charity that will contribute to preserving natural local habitats and planting new trees, which naturally absorb carbon dioxide. The Surrey Wildlife Trust is on a mission to restore nature across the county, managing 7,000ha of land, including some of Surrey’s top nature reserves. It campaigns for wildlife issues, educating all ages to care for nature, and has a comprehensive woodland management programme that includes the harvesting of sustainable timber.

The use of sustainable timber is an important part of NDC Garage Doors’ responsible business strategy. NDC Garage Doors’ timber is sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) approved woodlands, which identifies well- and responsibly-managed forests. As a natural solution, trees absorb and lock in carbon dioxide, the most impactful of the greenhouse gases contributing to global warming, preventing it from returning to the atmosphere. Giving out oxygen in exchange, the more timber products grown, the more positive the effect on our planet. There is also little to no wastage with timber products. Leftover wood is turned into pulp for paper or chipboard.

“We’re huge believers in the benefits of using responsibly-sourced timber in construction, which is one of the most environmentally-friendly materials currently available,” adds Scott. “While growing, timber is a natural carbon sink that reduced greenhouse gases, and it is truly renewable as felled trees are replaced by multiple saplings in these carefully managed forests.”

Alongside its use of sustainable timber, NDC Garage Doors is focused on its environmental and sustainability activities, undertaking extensive waste recycling programmes to ensure cardboard, plastic, old metal garage doors and batteries can be effectively recycled.
